NOUN AND TYPES OF NOUN

Noun is the name of Person , Place or things.

Noun  तथा Types of Noun के बारे में हम NOUN Part – 1 में जान चुके है । आज हम लोग Countable Noun के प्रकार तथा Uncountable Noun के प्रकार के बारे में जानेगे और Free  Mock  Test देकर अभ्यास करेंगे ।

Types of Noun

There are two types of Noun mainly.

1 . Countable Noun

2 . Uncountable Noun

Countable Noun

The Nouns which can be counted.

Examples –  Veena , Boy , Class , Raju etc.

Types of Countable Noun

  • Proper Noun
  • Common Noun
  • Collective Noun

Proper Noun

The Noun which denotes , indicate or represent a specific person, specific place or specific things.

Examples – Raju , Shyam , Mumbai , Kolkata , Gujrat , Ramayana , Gita , Bible etc.

Common Noun

The Noun which denotes , indicate or represent a common person, common place or common things.

Examples – Man , Woman , Town , School , Book , Table

Different between Proper Noun and Common Noun

अक्सर बच्चे Proper Noun तथा Common Noun में कंफ्यूज हो जाते है। Competitive Exams की द्दृष्टि से देखा जाये तो ये अत्यधिक महत्पूर्ण है की हम अच्छे से Proper Noun तथा Common Noun के बिच का फर्क समझ पाए जिससे आगे कभी कोई गलती न हो ।

वैसे तो हम परिभाषा देख कर भी समझ सकते है कि Proper Noun किसी विशिस्ट व्यक्ति , स्थान या वस्तु को दर्शाता है जबकि Common Noun सामान्य व्यक्ति , स्थान या वस्तु को दर्शाता है। आगे हम विस्तार में इसको समझने का प्रयास करेंगे ।

Proper Noun Common Noun

Proper Nouns are almost always Capitalized.

Example - James is a Doctor.

Here James is Proper Noun because James is a specific person but Doctor is a Common Noun because its commonly use for every doctor.

Example 2 - Shreya likes a river.

श्रेया एक विशिष्ट व्यक्ति को दर्शा रहा है इसलिए वो Proper Noun है तथा Shreya  श्रेया एक विशिष्ट व्यक्ति को दर्शा रहा है इसलिए वो Proper Noun है तथा Shreya  लिखते समय पहला अक्षर कैपिटल प्रयोग किया गया है जबकि इसके विपरीत river Common Noun  है इसलिए river  का पहला अक्षर स्माल है ।

Common Nouns are not Capitalized unless they don’t used at beginning of Sentence.

Example - Raju is a boy.

Here boy is Common Noun because boy is commonly use for everyone and Raju is Proper Noun.

Example 2 - Shyamal likes to see mountain.

यहाँ mountain Common Noun  है जो कि स्माल अक्षर से शुरू हुआ है ।

Collective Noun

The Noun which denotes a group of persons or other creatures and collection of things.

Example – A crew of sailors , A team of players , A class of students etc , A bunch of flowers etc.

Uncountable Noun

हम Uncountable Noun की परिभाषा Noun Part -1 में जान चुके है परन्तु आज भी हम Uncountable Noun तथा उसके प्रकार की बारे में जानेगे ।

The Nouns which cannot be counted is called Uncountable Noun.

Example – Water , Oil , Stars , honesty , coffee etc.

Types of Uncountable Noun

  • Material Noun
  • Abstract Noun
  • Concrete Noun

Material Noun

The Noun which denotes materials is called Material Noun.

Example – Silver , Gold , Copper etc.

 

Abstract Noun

The Noun which denotes quality , condition or action is called Abstract Noun. Everything which you can feel , describe but cannot be touched or cannot be used by your five senses is Abstract Noun.

Example – Fear , Luxury , Pain , Honesty , Misery , Stress etc

 

Concrete Noun

The Noun which can be identified by five senses but cannot be counted is Called Concrete Noun.

Examples – Dog , Flag , Voice , Fish , Apple , Bed etc.
